All four natives of California, John Fogerty born May 28, 1945,
his brother Tom, born on November 9, 1941, Stuart Alden Cook
born on April 25, 1945 and Doug “Cosmo” Clifford born on
  April 24, 1945, formed Creedence Clearwater Revival in 1968.

After several unsuccessful releases in the San Francisco Bay area,
they hit the top ten nationally for the first time in 1968 with
Susie Q”. In 1969 “Proud Mary”, “Bad Moon Rising”, “Green River” and
“Down on the Corner” all landed in the top ten.

The same was true in 1970 with “Travelin” Band”, “Up Around the Bend”
and “Lookin’ Out My Back Door”. 1971 brought more success with
“Sweet Hitch-Hiker" and " Have You Ever Seen The Rain”
both top ten singles.

Their albums “Creedence Clearwater Revival”, “Bayou Country”,
“Green River”, “Willy and the Poor Boys” and “Cosmo’s Factory”
each reached the top ten also.

In 1993 Creedence Clearwater Revival was inducted into the          
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and in 2005 John Fogerty was
inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

In 1989 Tom Fogerty died, he was 48 years of age.
