
Gary Puckett & The Union Gap
Gary Puckett was born on October 17, 1942 in Hibbing, Minnesota,
grew up in Yakima, Washington and graduated from high school
in Twin Falls, Idaho. As leader singer he was joined by
Dwight Bement, Kerry Chater, Paul Wheatbread and Gary Mithem
to form The Union Gap in 1967.
Gary Puckett, And The Union Gap exploded on the Hit Parade
with five million selling singles beginning with “Woman, Woman”
in 1967. “Young Girl,” “Lady Willpower” and “Over You” followed
in 1968 ending with “This Girl Is A Woman Now” in 1969.
Although The Union Gap was disbanded in 1971, Gary Puckett continues
to perform as a solo act and calls Clearwater, Florida home.
