Steve Miller Band
Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on October 5, 1943,
Steve Miller learned
his first guitar chords from his godfather
and
family friend, guitarist
extraordinaire, recording
pioneer, the late Les Paul.
It was 20 years later that he began to gather his “recording legs”
while
mingling with several recording stars including Howling Wolf,
Paul Butterfield and Muddy Waters. But it was not until in the mid
1960’s
when he moved to San Francisco that he began to lay the groundwork
for
Hit Parade success, “The Joker” in 1973, “Take the Money & Run,”
“Rock ‘n Me” and “Fly Like An Eagle” in 1976. “Jet Airliner” followed
in 1977
with chart topper
“Abracadabra” in 1962.
