
Fontane Sisters
They were regulars on the Perry Como television
show in the 50’s,
Bea, Geri and Margi Rosse of New Milford, New Jersey, known
professionally as the Fontaine Sisters, when in 1955 their “Hearts
of Stone” leaped to the top of the Hit Parade earning the trio a gold
record for what was one of rock’s first international hits.
In the same year, 1955, “Seventeen” also sold a million singles
with “Eddie My Love” following in 1956. Among their dozen or
more hits was “Rock Love,” “Rollin’ Stone,” “Daddy-O,” “I’m
In Love Again, “Please Don’t Leave Me,” “The Banana
Boat Song” and “Chanson d’Amour.”
The Fontane Sisters retired in the early 1960’s with Geri, passing
away at 65 years of age in 1993. Bea died in 2002 at 77 and Marge
at 80 years of age in 2003.
